Decorative Soldering "Touch of Drama!" Workshop

Learn the decorator's secrets for enhancing almost any stained glass project.  Now you can add bumps, stripes and swirls to your solder and say "I meant to do that!" Find out how different types of solder and copper foil, flux, soldering irons and temperature controls can make your projects even more beautiful.

1 session; 3 hours per session; limit 6
No glass cutting required.
Bring liquid & paste flux, flux brushes, 60/40 & 63/37 solders, soldering iron temperature control, and safety glasses.
Instructions are available in the shop for the practice board which must be made prior to class.

 

Advanced Decorative Soldering Workshop

Kick your creativity up a notch with more techniques for decorative soldering, including new decorative patterns, how to make free-form decorations and difference finishes to help add "Exquisite Details" to your work.

Decorative Options Workshop

Add a touch of class to your projects by including metal embellishments that look like they were crafted by skilled metalsmiths. Learn how to emboss soft metals, create molds of your favorite items or shapes, and trim your projects in metal flourishes. These metal accents can be a focal point in your panels, a clasp on your box, or just jazz up an ornament.

Bring liquid flux, flux brush, sheets of copper foil (without adhesive backing), 60/40 & 63/37 solders, soldering iron temperature control, glass cutter, and safety glasses.

Mark is an adjunct instructor at the Howard Community College (HCC) where he offers Stained Glass Classes. Sessions cover cutting glass, foiling, pattern assembly, soldering, and framing your project. See the latest HCC catalog of courses for current dates and time. Please register through HCC.
Just For Kids ---
Children and their friends can celebrate that special birthday by making stained glass jewelry or special projects designed especially for young creative minds.  Email for details.
Customized Classes & Workshops ---
Always wanted to learn how to, but can't find a class.  Ask Mark to customize a class just for your and a few friends.
